Sunshine

Good morning,
Life is good when the sun is bright. The snow is beautiful on the ground. It makes the worlds ills only a shadow. The clean air, fresh carmel coffee at your side, the knowledge that spring is on its way, taxes are filled, and the house is spotless. School today will be awesome. The plan for today is balanced with fun and learning. Dinner is in the crock pot and will be ready after the girl is home from basketball. The radio is playing softly in the background. The world is at peace.
Then the ball that "doesn't get thrown in the house" knocks you upside the head. Then you come back to the real world. The wonderful son is not dressed even though you have told him to 17 times. The dog is chewing something??? The coffee is actually yesterday's heated up in the microwave. The house is a disaster. And gosh darn it, it is cold outside and I am tired of snow. Personal space is a thing of the past. Cartoons are blaring in the background. The crock pot is still dirty from last nights dinner. For school I will need strength and a bull whip. BUT..........
I have the power to choose what reality I shall participate in today. I will go now, turn off the TV, remove the stuffed fish from the dog's grasp, drink another cup of java, and enjoy the energy of my 8 year old.

Why dogs should walk themselves.

Ok it's winter in the arctic north. I have an adorible dog, Killer. He is a chunky, black and white, fox terrier. Little dog needed a big name. Hubby wanted to call him "darn it" so our son could chase after him saying "come here darn it". But I digresss. At 20 degrees with a wind that would make a polar bear shiver, a person should not have to walk a dog. They should be able to walk themselves. However my dog is not on the top of the IQ chart. He likes to run. He likes his freedom. He apparently does not remember how being under a Honda really feels. So I am back where I started from. Believing, hopeful for change, but I must now go out and walk the dog. Brrrrrrrr.

PS. I cleaned up what Mike really wanted to call the dog cause I don't think I can use curse words in a blog.

Welcome to my first blog attempt.

Hi all,
Welcome to my blog. They say that I can write anything in my blog. So here goes "anything". Ok I am done. It has been fun. Maybe I will write something else next time. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read what I have written.
Your friend,
Nancy
